Summary
The AJC New England Global Advocacy Fellowship is dedicated to the development of a new generation of leaders, who will need the know-how to engage complex global challenges that are already shaping the Jewish community’s future. Adults aged 28-42 who are selected to be Global Advocacy Fellows will participate in a 4-month program that will introduce them to AJC’s unique and powerful approach to advocacy.  Those who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to become active participants in AJC’s work.

What Can You Tell Me About AJC New England?
AJC safeguards the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, while promoting human rights and democratic values for all. AJC New England is the regional gateway to AJC’s global network, which includes 32 offices across the United States and around the world. Working in coordination with colleagues around the globe, AJC New England undertakes high-level diplomacy, strong political and legislative advocacy, and effective interreligious and ethnic outreach AJC New England to impact vital issues affecting the future of the Jewish people and democratic life around the world.

Who Should Apply to Become a Global Advocacy Fellow?
The Global Advocacy Fellowship is for highly motivated people with demonstrated leadership skills, a commitment to Jewish life and a passion to secure the Jewish future.  Successful candidates will have an interest in applying what they learn upon completion of the program, hopefully with AJC.  They will also appreciate the special relationships between philanthropy and leadership. Finally, allowing for unanticipated circumstances, the successful Fellow will be expected to be an active participant in the program throughout.

What Will Global Advocacy Fellows Do?  What Will They Learn?
The answer to both questions is – a lot. The program will mix opportunities to:

  •  Meet with policy makers in and out of AJC;
  • Participate in AJC advocacy, such as diplomatic meetings;
  • Attend major convocations, such as the AJC Global Forum;
  • Learn about the issues and strategies that drive AJC advocacy;
  • Engage with strategic faith and ethnic partners;
  • Attend AJC events such as the Diplomats Seder.

Meetings and programs will take place roughly once a month from April to July.  In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in other AJC initiatives according to a Fellow’s interests.
